1st Annual Mills' Family Easter Egg Hunt

This April our family hosted our first Easter egg hunt here at the Mills' Farm. We had an awesome turn out and even a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny. We had a 2-4 year old hunt and then a 5 and older hunt. I hid 500 eggs and all but three were found. After the hunt, the children took a hay ride through our farm. I was a beautiful afternoon and I hope next years hunt goes just as well.

Jocelyn went to several hunts this Easter. Her first hunt was at her preschool, then in Downtown Mooresville, next at our farm, and finally ending at Nana and Papa's house. She had more candy then we new what to do with; of course, through half away. Brianna joined Jocelyn as a spectator, but she will be involved next year.

Growing up too fast

Brianna is now 6 months old, has her bottom two front teeth, and is sitting on her own. I have started making baby food for her and she has mastered apples, bananas, green beans, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash. I am getting ready to introduce to her pears, mangoes, green peas, peaches, and carrots. I never realized how easy and how much cheaper it is to make the baby food. Brianna is still wearing 3-6 month clothing and looking back at Jocelyn's baby book, she so much smaller then Jocelyn was at that age. Brianna loves her blanket, her sister, and especially her daddy. I believe Brian taking off the first 3 months of Brianna's life was the best thing he could have ever done. Brianna knows who her daddy is and even cries to be held by him no matter who is holding her. She has been in the pool at Gigi's house and in Lake Norman; she is a fish just like Jocelyn.

Jocelyn just finished her first year of preschool and has begun summer camp. She is fully potty trained and no longer wets the bed at night. There is still no jealousy issues between her and Brianna. Hopefully that doesn't change. Jocelyn's knows her ABC's, 123's, colors, and has expanded her vocabulary. She has a definite attitude and knows what and when she wants things. Basically she is me when I was her age. Preschool has helped develop her social skills with children and adults. She actually goes up to children both younger and older than her, introduces herself and asks them if they want to play with her. She has turned into quit a little social butterfly. We have begun mommy and me ballet classes every Monday night and swim classes every Tuesday and Thursday night. She has a full summer this year.

We are looking forward to our two week beach trip coming up and Jocelyn's 3rd birthday this July. My baby girl has turned into a little lady over night. She loves playing dress up and playing make-believe every chance she gets. She also LOVES to talk on the phone no matter who it is. It has turned into a battle over the phone lately; so, don't be surprised if Jocelyn is screaming in the background "I want to talk" when you call.

Finally Adjusted

Brianna is now 7 weeks old and we have all adjusted to our new little girl. Jocelyn is a great big sister. She continues to amaze me everyday of how well she adapts to changes. She loves her little sister and is not jealous at all. Bringing home a new baby has been a great experince for all of us. I keep waiting for our world to crash in around us, but it just seems to keep getting better. Brianna is sleeping four to five hours a night, which is wonderful since Jocelyn got up every two hours. I do believe Jocelyn is high maintence like her mom and Brianna is laid back like her daddy. Only time will tell. I can not wait to experience this rollercoaster.
Jocelyn is attending preschool 3 days a week and just loves it. She had her first Christmas program with the school and it was wonderful. Back in November we moved Jocelyn into her "Big Girl" room and she just loves it. Anytime anyone comes over she takes them to see her room, even if they've seen it before. I believed she has shown Gigi, Uncle Bradley, and Nicole her room at least 15 times. Jocelyn is currently battling pink eye. I guess it's good she gets all these illnesses now, so that when she starts school she is already immuned. My baby has turned in to such a great little girl. Jocelyn is turning into the girlie girl my mom always wanted. She loves her babies, her purses, dressing up, and cooking. Her favorite animal is a horse thanks to Nicole, Bradley's girlfriend. Nicole's horses stay here at the farm and Jocelyn loves all three of them, but especially Blue. She gets to ride him often and calls him "her horse" even though it's Nicole's horse. As I said before she loves her little sister and is a great help to me with Brianna.
Christmas at the Mills' household was great and of course Jocelyn got spoiled, especially by Gigi. I too got spoiled, not only did I get Brianna as a present but I also received Brian for 12 weeks. My awesome husband took off of work until the end of March to help me out and spend time with all his girls. So far, it has been wonderful and I know I'm not going to want him to go back to work. I will try to update my blog monthly.
